| | Description: | Two Tone Records was created in 1979 by The Specials founder Jerry Dammers. The label spawned a youth movement and a number of well-known artists and singles throughout its tenure including the aforementioned Specials with key singles â??Gangstersâ?? and the UK Number 1 singles â??Too Much Too Youngâ?? and â??Ghost Townâ??. They also helped launch the careers of Madness with â??The Princeâ??, The Beat with â??Tears of A Clownâ??, The Selecter with â??On My Radioâ?? and The Bodysnatchers with â??Letâ??s Do Rocksteadyâ??. The label ended its chart run of singles with â??Nelson Mandelaâ?? by The Special AKA. This 40th Anniversary 8CD Collection contains the first 8 albums released on the label, with offerings by The Specials, The Selecter and Rico. The sought-after live concert albumâ??Dance Crazeâ?? is available here in full for the first time on CD and Ricoâ??s â??Jama Ricoâ?? is also making itâ??s debut on CD. The long out of print â??This Are Two Toneâ?? compilation collects key tracks from the catalogue including a host of non-album singles and b-sides. The artwork has been overseen by label founder Jerry Dammers. New sleeve notes by Jason Weir and Peter Walsh who curate an online archive of everything 2 Tone. - .. Rear of box has 2 errors - "The Boiler" on This Are Two Tone is incorrectly credited to Rico & The Special A.K.A. (The inside sleeves and disc credit that song correctly.) Also "Bright Lights" on The Special AKA 'In The Studio' album is mistitled "Bright Eyes".

All of the above are the 2015 remasters which were used in the double CD versions of each album.
"Dance Craze" and "This Are Two Tone" are new 2020 remasters.
Neither of the Rico albums have been remastered. Nor has Too Much Pressure. Too Much Pressure was released on CD by Captain Mod a few years ago with extra tracks, but it wasn't remastered.
