| | Description: | England in den 30er- bis 50er-Jahren: Der junge, motivierte Tierarzt James Herriot findet seine erste Anstellung bei seinem älteren Kollegen Siegfried Farnon in dessen Praxis in Darrowby in der Grafschaft Yorkshire. Farnon ist ein kauziger Junggeselle aus Überzeugung, der mit seiner Haushälterin Mrs. Hall zusammenlebt.
