Redbone was a Los Angeles-based group led by Native American Pat and Lolly Vegas. They hit paydirt in 1974 with the million-seller 'Come and Get Your Love.' Lead singers Pat and Lolly Vegas had previously worked under their own names, appearing in the 1965 film It's a Bikini World prior to forming Redbone. Their first success as Redbone came in 1970 with 'Maggie' on Epic. This digipak reissue of their 1970 debut adds 2 bonus tracks 'Maggie' (single edit) & 'New Blue Sermonette' (single version). Repertoire. 2004.
"Potlatch" is a CD reissue of the 1970 album by Redbone, the pioneering Native American rock band whose unique blend of rock, funk, soul and tribal influences made them one of the most distinctive acts of their era. This edition on Repertoire presents the band in their early creative prime, with earthy grooves, tight vocal harmonies and a warm, analogue sound that captures the spirit of the late '60s and early '70s. Listeners can expect a rich mixture of driving rock tracks, laid-back, groove-oriented songs and more atmospheric pieces that reflect Redbone's cultural roots and musical curiosity. The production highlights organic instrumentation, prominent bass lines and expressive guitar work, ideal for fans of classic rock who value depth and authenticity.
Redbone, founded by brothers Pat and Lolly Vegas, gained international recognition in the early 1970s with their chart successes and distinctive sound, and they are widely remembered for their worldwide hit "Come and Get Your Love," which became a long-lasting classic of rock and pop culture. As one of the first Native American bands to break through to a mainstream rock audience, Redbone hold an important place in music history and have inspired generations of artists with their blend of heritage and modern styles.
Repertoire is a specialist reissue label known for carefully curated editions of classic albums, with great attention to original artwork, sound quality and historical context. Collectors and music lovers appreciate Repertoire releases for their detailed booklets, high production standards and respect for the integrity of the original recordings.
