PRECIOUS WILSON

Precious Wilson is a name that might not immediately come to mind when thinking about famous artists or musicians, but her contribution to the music industry is no lesser than any other. Wilson, born in Jamaica in 1957 and later raised in England, is a soul and disco singer best known for her work with the German band Eruption in the late 1970s. Wilson began her music career as a backing vocalist for other musicians, including the world-famous Tina Turner. However, her talent as a lead singer quickly became apparent, leading her to pursue a solo career. It was her collaboration with Eruption, though, that brought her significant success. Working with Eruption, Wilson released two studio albums, "Eruption" (1977) and "Fight, Fight, Fight" (1979), which included hit singles such as "I Can't Stand the Rain" and "One Way Ticket." Her distinctive voice and ability to connect with the audience were crucial in the band's success, which led to performances around the world and numerous television appearances. After leaving Eruption in 1980, Wilson went on to release several solo albums, including "All Coloured in Love" (1986) and "It's On You" (1988), showing her musical flexibility and range. She also continued to tour and perform, showcasing her natural stage presence and captivating audiences with her soulful performances. Moreover, her talent and passion for music reached far beyond just singing. She has also written several songs for other artists, including "Under the Gun" and "Skin Deep" for the British band Little Angels. Looking back at Wilson's career, it is clear that she's a significant force in the music industry, despite not reaching the same household name as some of her contemporaries. Her soulful voice and engaging performances solidify her contributions' impact and continue to inspire musicians worldwide today.
