Noch nie hatte jemand so charismatisch, lasziv und fordernd „Fun For Me“ ins Mikrofon gehaucht wie Roisin Murphy von Moloko. Das ist jedoch schon eine Weile her, und seitdem hat sich der quirlige, oft schräge und eigentümliche Klangkosmos der Briten in ein ziemlich homogenes und verwaschenes Allerwelts-Schubidu verwandelt. „Statues“ nennt sich dann auch folgerichtig das neue Moloko-Album, das den Namensgebern in Sachen Unbeweglichkeit in nichts nachsteht. Wo ist diese wundersam-hypnotische Performace der Band abgeblieben Wo ist der Mut, Funk, House, Pop und allerlei Schräges zu einem heißen Conglomerat zu verschmelzen Nicht einmal für einen so locker-fröhlicher Mitsing-Gassenhauer wie „Sing It Back“ hat es diesmal gereicht. Ein Album für Menschen, deren perfekter Abend darin manifestiert, sich in einer langweiligen Bar stundenlang an einem Glas Prosecco festzuhalten. Sehr, sehr schade, das.
