Born on January 5, 1969, in Canton, Ohio, Manson, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner, attended GlenOak High School and was a member of the school's drama club. Manson's first foray into music was as a member of various local bands, including the Spooky Kids. However, he rose to fame in the early 1990s when he formed his eponymous band, Marilyn Manson, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, along with guitarist Scott Putesky (aka Daisy Berkowitz).
