The sixth solo studio album by British singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Knopfler, released on 14 September 2009.Get Lucky received generally favorable reviews,[2] and reached the top three positions on album charts in Denmark, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, and Poland. The album peaked at number nine in the United Kingdom, and number 17 in the United States. I recommend.

On this album, you get a bit of every Knopfler we know and love. If you want genius songwriting and some of the most passionate guitar playing on Earth, go and buy this album.

Get Lucky sees Mark Knopfler at his nostalgic, imaginative best. It is thoughtful “listening” music with hints of folk and history, not for bopping or dancing or going over the top.

An excellent solo album from the leader of legendary Dire Straits released in 2009. Full of charming ballads, with celtic/folk elements. Five stars despite of rather poor decoration.

It would seem that not so much time has passed since the breakdown of Dire Straits (the group officially ceased to exist in 1995), but over the past period, the permanent leader and main author of the band, Mark Knopfler, has already released more than ten solo works, taking into account the soundtracks! For comparison: during the nearly twenty-year career, the Dire Streets managed to release only six studio albums, and not every one of them can be called successful. With Mr. Knopfler’s individual work, things are also far from controversial, and his next Get Lucky studio record only emphasizes this statement. First, the good news: whatever grandfather Mark performed for us (Scottish tunes in “Border Reiver”, blues in “You Can’t Beat the House”, acoustic ballad “Monteleone” or classic mid-tempo compositions like “Cleaning My Gun”) - the handwriting of the master is recognized at a time. This also applies to the calm manner of vocals, and, of course, the signature Knopfler’s guitar sound: no matter what instrument Mark Mark Knopfler’s hands hold (and he plays Gibson, Fender, and Schecter), his manner of playing cannot be confused either. with whom, it’s possible that Mark’s rather unique manner of extracting sounds from an electric guitar plays a significant role in this - without a pick. About the fact that each of the eleven songs of the album is very melodic, beautiful and non-aggressive - to say too much: when was it different?

This is the sixth solo studio album by British singer-songwriter and guitarist Mark Knopfler, released in 2009. This is one of my favorite Knopfler album. This CD should appeal to those who love folk rock.
