"Tapehead" is a dynamic and powerful album by the acclaimed American rock band King's X, released in 1998. This CD format edition, produced by Sony Music/Metal Blade, showcases the band's signature blend of progressive metal, hard rock, and soulful harmonies. With tracks like "Fade," "Over and Over," and "World," King's X delivers emotionally charged lyrics paired with intricate musicianship that has earned them a devoted global following. The trio?Doug Pinnick (vocals/bass), Ty Tabor (guitar/vocals), and Jerry Gaskill (drums/vocals)?have been praised for their innovative sound since their debut in the late 1980s. Notable achievements include influencing major acts such as Pearl Jam and Dream Theater while maintaining critical acclaim through albums like "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska." Sony Music/Metal Blade are renowned labels known for supporting groundbreaking artists across genres; Metal Blade especially has played an essential role in shaping heavy music worldwide.
Tapehead was a jolt to the system on first airing. This was a more aggressive album, with 'Groove Machine' one hell of an opener. The hints of heavy funk & soul that were speckled through their early albums are more in evidence here.

The seventh studio album by American rock band King's X, released in 1998. This album blows off your face! I recommend.

So many great songs on this underrated release from a highly underrated band. From Little Bit of Soul and Higher than God to Fade and Groove Machine. The latter becoming a staple opener for concerts of the First Church of Rock & Roll.

King's X sind in ihrer eigenen Liga. Diese Verknüpfung von Rock, Hard Rock, ein paar Prog Elementen und den mehrstimmigen Chören gibt's nur von den US Boys. Love it or hate it. Wie immer schön aufgemacht und top produziert.

Un disco buenísimo. No hay ningún tema malo. Grooves super potentes con una producción buenísima. Un discazo de arriba abajo. Lo más chungo, la portada, mira que es fea!
