GANGSTA BLAC

Gangsta Blac is a pioneering rapper and producer who was an integral part of the Memphis hip-hop scene during the 1990s. His raw, edgy sound and street-oriented lyrics made him a favorite among rap fans in the south, and his influence can still be heard in many of today's top hip-hop artists. Born Cedric Coleman in Memphis, Tennessee in 1972, Gangsta Blac grew up in a tough urban neighborhood where crime and violence were common occurrences. He was raised by his mother and grandmother, who instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep sense of pride in his community. Gangsta Blac began writing and performing rap music at an early age, and by the time he was a teenager he was already making a name for himself on the local scene. He soon teamed up with fellow Memphis rapper, Three 6 Mafia, and together they began recording and producing music that would change the face of southern hip-hop forever. Over the course of the next several years, Gangsta Blac released a number of solo albums, including "Can It Be?" and "74 Minutes of Bump," each of which showcased his distinctive sound and style. His music was characterized by gritty, hard-hitting beats, and aggressive, no-holds-barred lyrics that spoke to the struggles and hardships of life in the inner city. Despite his success, Gangsta Blac remained committed to his roots and continued to work closely with other Memphis-based rappers and producers. He produced a number of tracks for Three 6 Mafia, as well as for fellow Memphis rapper, Project Pat. Throughout his career, Gangsta Blac remained a tireless advocate for the Memphis hip-hop scene, and helped to put the city on the map as a hotbed of musical talent. His legacy lives on in the work of many of today's most popular hip-hop artists, who continue to draw inspiration from his unique sound and style. In conclusion, Gangsta Blac was a talented artist and producer whose influence on the world of hip-hop can still be felt today. His music spoke directly to the struggles and challenges of life in the inner city, and his raw, unfiltered style inspired a generation of up-and-coming rappers and producers. While he may no longer be with us, his legacy will continue to live on as a testament to the incredible impact that he had on the genre of music that he loved.
