| Description: | Dick Hyman's Century of Jazz Piano takes you from ragtime to Gershwin to the Duke onto Monk and finally unstructured free improvisation styles and etudes 5 CDs/1 DVD.The 5 CD set is a survey of jazz piano as recorded by Dick Hyman in 121 audio performances, plus a DVD with 13 hands-on lessons, 4 video performances, memorabilia pictures, credits, and information about other Dick Hyman CDs available on Arbors Records. The original recordings were done from 1996 to 1997 at the studio of Dick Hyman Music, Inc. in Venice, Florida with additional sessions at Yamaha showrooms in New York City. Subsequent recording sessions were done in 2007 at Piano Distributors of Sarasota.
Discs 1 to 5 first issued as a CD/Rom, plus additional material recorded in 2007 for this box set. |
