Messiaen is, of course, among the composers to feature on the 42 CDs in this set. It also includes: solo works and works for piano and orchestra by Bach, Bartók, Brahms, Chopin, Debussy, Liszt, Milhaud, Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Ravel, Scriabin, Schubert, Schumann and Weber, and collaborations with other distinguished musicians â?? fellow pianist Jean-Philippe Collard in music by Debussy, Dukas, Bizet and Ravel; violinist Augustin Dumay in Brahms, Franck, Szymanowski and Strauss, and soprano Barbara Hendricks in songs by Debussy. In addition there are three previously unreleased items: Bachâ??s Overture in the French Style (from 1969) and Beethovenâ??s Piano Sonatas Nos 30 & 31 (from 1978).
